Danny started his wrestling career at Jennings County High School, under Hall of Fame coach T. Howard Jones, where he was a member of 3 HHC Championship teams, 3 Sectional Championship Teams, and 2 Jeff Classic Championship teams.  Upon graduation there in 1995, Coach Struck walked on to the U of I wrestling team and earned a scholarship, and a varsity letter as a freshman, under Hall of Fame Coach Terry Wetherald.  From there Danny spent 1 year as an undergrad coach at U of I, and head coach at Doe Creek Middle School in New Palestine.  Upon graduation from U of I in 1999, Coach Struck took the position of Head Middle School Wrestling Coach, Asst. High School Coach, and Head middle school football coach in Greencastle, Indiana.  During his 3 year stint, Coach Struck helped Greencastle achieve the schools first 2 sectional and conference titles, along with 2 Putnam County Championships, and 46 dual meet wins.  His middle school teams also had a 3 year record of 34-3, including 1 undefeated season.  From there Coach Struck took his first head coaching job at Jeffersonville High School.  During the last 5 years there Coach Struck has led the Red Devils to their first ever Regional Qualifying team 3x, 53 regional qualifiers, 15 semi state qualifiers, and 2 state qualifier.  He has led the Red Devils to beat the school record in dual meet wins 4 times, in 5 years, with last year having 32 wins.  He has been named the 2002 Indiana State Wrestling Association's coach of the year, 2004 University of Indianapolis Coach of the Year, and the wrestling club has been named club of the year twice under his guidance. He has coached in Japan, Poland, Turkey and Australia for Cultural Exchange Trips, and has been named to national team staffs 8 times.  In 2005 Coach Struck was named to the USA Coach staff as the Greco Roman University World Games Coach.   Coach Struck is currently serving the ISWA as the State Coach and is one of only 2 Gold Certified coaches in Indiana.   Coach Struck has had 12 wrestlers sign scholarships, 6 of them from Jeffersonville.  He has also had 4 USA Wrestling All-Americans, and 4 academic All-state recipients.  Coach Struck also has 8 years of football coaching experience.

Kacey Carlton, Assistant Coach
Job: Teacher, Clarksville High School
Family: Married to Lana Carlton (his MIDDLE SCHOOL SWEETHEART!) and this year they are celebrating the birth of their baby, Lillie.
Athletic and Academic Achievements: Coach Carlton comes to us from Mt. Vernon High School where he played football, basketball, track and wrestling.  Coach Carlton truly believes in being involved in as much as you can as he also was the lead in GREASE, and was a member of the Latin Club.  From there Coach Carlton went on to earn a degree as a German teacher from IU in Bloomington where he was a manager for the IU football team for 4 years.  Besides coaching wrestling at Jeff High, Coach Carlton was the head discus, and shot put coach at Clarksville last year.

Robby Rhinehart, Assistant Wrestling  - rrhinehart@gcs.k12.in.us
Job: Math Teacher, Jeffersonville High School
Family: Married to Melissa Rhinehart (Art Teacher, Corydon Central Junior High School), two Dalmatians – Purdy (10) and Pups (4)
Coach Rhinehart started his wrestling career at the George Washington (GW) High School Junior wrestling program in Charleston, WV at the age of 10.  In high school, Coach Rhinehart was a two time West Virginia state tournament qualifier, as a Junior at 189 pounds (only weighed 161) and as a Senior at 160 pounds.  GW finished 7th in West Virginia both of those seasons.  Upon graduation there in 1993, Coach Rhinehart walked on to the West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) Cross-Country team and was elected Captain as a Senior. After Graduating from WVWC in December 1997, Coach Rhinehart was hired to team math at Middletown High School in Middletown Maryland.  Coach Rhinehart taught and coached wrestling there for 4 years, while starting a Cross-Country program at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.  Coach then accepted a teaching job at Brunswick Middle School in Brunswick, Maryland, while helping take over a new wrestling program at the high school in its’ 3rd year.  After going 3-23 it’s first 2 seasons, Brunswick High School posted a 12-6 duel record that season.  Then for two years, Coach Rhinehart taught and coached Freestyle Wrestling at Nile C. Kinnick High School in Yokosuka, Japan.  Coach Rhinehart found his way back to teaching and coaching at Brunswick High School last season, while coaching Terry Bartholomew (125 lbs.) to his 4th Frederick County title, 1st Region title and runner-up in the state of Maryland (defeating a 3-time Maryland state champion at regionals).  Now, Coach Rhinehart is teaching and coaching in Jeffersonville.   Coach Rhinehart served as the Indiana Women’s National Team coach last summer leading them to a 7th place finish in the nation with 2 all-americans. Coach Rhinehart coached the 2007 Jeffersonville High School Boys Cross-Country Team to qualify for Regionals and Have one runner (Dan Coats) qualify for State.

Zach Harper, Head Wrestling Coach, Parkview Middle School – harperzach@gmail.com
Athletic Achievements: A 2004 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Zach has been involved with Jeffersonville wrestling for over fourteen years, starting at age five.  In High School Zach was a four year wrestling  letter winner, first under coach Mike Brown, then under current coach Danny Struck.  He was a member of both the 2003, and 2004 record setting teams lead by coach Struck.  As a sophomore he competed with Team Indian Cultural Exchange in Istanbul Turkey.  Zach was a 2003 IHSSA sectional champion, and was voted Jeffersonville High Schools 2004 Most Valuable Wrestler. In his first year out of High School, Zach decided to give back to the wrestling community,  helping lead Parkview Middle School to their first winning season with an 8-4 record. He is currently a USA Wrestling certified bronze coach as well as a category M2 mat official. In his first year as Parkview’s head coach he hopes to get more kids involved with wrestling and to build upon the teams successes last season.  This past season he was selected as the coach for the Middle School Duals team for the ISWA.

Rob Ferguson – PARKVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACH

Rob is currently attending IUS to pursue a career in Teaching.  Rob was a semi-state qualifier for us and a team captain, he will be the assistant coach at Parkview. His freshman year, he was awarded the Rookie of the Year award, and his sophomore and junior year he received most improved. In 2007, Rob was awarded the MVP award.  In high school, Rob was selected as student of the month twice, and was invited to the Breakfast of Champions three times. He also played soccer for Jeff for 2 seasons and received leadership and most improved awards.  Rob has been a part of the elementary league for 4 years and helped coach Parkwood to their 2007 league championship.  Rob has also coached YMCA youth soccer teams.

Alonzo Shepherd, Team Jeff Wrestling Coach
Job: DW Wall covering in Louisville, KY 14 years – currently pursuing teaching degree at IU Souteast
Family: Married to Shayla Shepherd with 3 kids, Tori (13), Alonzo (11), and Jarrod (6) (both boys wrestle!)
Athletic and Academic Achievements: Coach Shepherd is in his first season at Parkview Middle School, but comes to us with much experience.  Coach Shepherd competed for Knox High School in Wrestling, Track and Football.  While at Knox High Coach Shepherd was a 3x Rochester Invitational Champion, 3x Knox Invitational Champion, 4x Sectional Champion, 3x Conference Champion, 2x Regional Champion, and 2x State Qualifier placing 5th.  Coach Shepherd graduated with a career record of 86-12 accumulating 15 tournament individual tournament championships.  In the off-season he was a 1980 Freestyle and Greco Roman State Champion.  Coach Shepherd has spent time as assistant coach at Knox High School, and Middle school as well as being a head coach at North Judson High School and Middle School.

Jimmy Wright – JEFFERSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACH

2x Semi-State Qualifier, spent 1 season wrestling at the University of Indianapolis. 
           Jimmy is currently a student at IUS pursuing a career in graphic arts. Jimmy is the  assistant instructor at ‘Full moon Martial arts academe” . Jimmy compete on the Greco roman team  in Fargo, north Dakota.  Jimmy is  also perusing a career in mixed martial arts as well as going to IUS. Jimmy is currently a blue belt in Brazilian jui jitsu  under Helio Soneca and also studies muay thai, a form of kickboxing  that’s from Thailand.

Josh Stith – JEFFERSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT WRESTLING COACH
JOB: Josh is a flooring installer in Louisville. Married .
This 2x IHSAA state qualifierwas a 1999 Graduate of Jeffersonville high school, where he was a member of the IHSWCA State Runner up teams of 1998, 1999.   He is still tied for the most wins in a single season at Jeffersonville with 50.  Josh competed on the Greco Roman National team in Fargo North Dakota while in high school.Josh spent the last 2 years as assistant coach at Parkview Middle School before chosing to move to the high school to help the kids he coached at the middle school level  Coach Stith was a 2 time state qualifier for Jeffersonville High School. Josh is also a mma ( mixed martial arts) instructor at “ Full Moon Martial arts academey.”


Kevin Cooke –  JEFFERSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACH
2005 Graduate of Jeffersonville High School
While in high school Kevin was known as being one of Jeffersonville’s most improved wrestlers Kevin’s “doggedness” paid off his senior year by earning himi a Jeff Classic championship, Greco Roman State Runner up, HHC runner-up, and a college scholarship to Limestone College.  Kevin is now back with us for 1 semester as he prepares for a career in the US NAVY as an operations specialist.  Kevin is looking to pursue a career in the US Navy as an Operation Specialist. Kevin was a Greco State runner- up.


Brent Maddox - Jeffersonville High School Assistant
– currently playing football for the Louisville Fire, coach Maddox comes to us from Western Boone, IN  where he wrestled and played football.  Before wrestling and playing football for a Junior College in San Diego, Coach Maddox spent 4 years in the Marine Corp, spending time in Afgahnasitan.  From there he went onto Iona College in NYC to play football at Div.1 AA Iona College.  Coach Maddox has spent time in NFL Europe, and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad.  On top of that Coach Maddox has coached wrestling in New York, California, and in Northern Indiana where he has had a HWT state qualifier at each of those schools.  Coach Maddox has trained in mixed martial arts with some of the world’s best including Dan Henderson the 2x Olympic Team Member, and PRIDE Fighting World Champion. 


Daniel Rosbottom  - ASSISTANT COACH JEFF HIGH

– Daniel comes back to us after wrestling for Cumberland University TN where he was a NAIA National Qualifier.  Coach Rosbottom while in high school won numerous championships including 2 trips to the IHSAA state finals, a HHC Championship, Jeff Classic Championship, received the IHSAA Academic All-State Award.  Daniel is currently studying as a double major at U of L to receive his Math degree as well as his teaching certification.


Joe Somerville – HEAD ELEMENTARY COACH FOR TEAM JEFF
Coach Somerville is a Charlestown High School Graduate and heads up for Elementary Folkstyle programs.  Coach Ogden has helped lead our freestyle club to numerous titles including 3 state placements in 2007 at Greco/Freestyle and Folkstyle state finals.  Coach Somerville serves as our club’s Folkstyle director as well as the treasurer for the club.



Coach Ogden  - HEAD COACH RIVER VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL
– Coach Ogden is in his second year as head coach at River Valley, he also spent a year there as an assistant coach.  Coach Ogden wrestled and graduated from Providence High School. Coach Ogden has brought new life to the River Valley wrestling program with a new schedule and a fabulous work ethic to make them a successful feeder program for our high school.
