ISWA WRESTLERS EARN 106 MEDALS AT THE 2006 IHSAA STATE FINALS - JOIN TEAM JEFF

Of the 224 wrestlers qualifying for this event, 205 participated in the ISWA program as well. At this competition, the IHSAA awarded a total of 112 medals to wrestlers placing 1st through 8th.

ISWA Member Wrestlers took home 108 medals including: 

         14 — 1st place medals
         14 — 2nd place medals
         13 — 3rd place medals
         13 — 4th place medals    
         12 — 5th place medals
         14 — 6th place medals
         14 — 7th place medals    
         14 — 8th place medals

6 non-ISWA members were awarded medals including:
         0 — 1st place medals
         0 — 2nd place medals
         1 — 3rd place medal
         1 — 4th place medal                                  
         2 — 5th place medals
         0 — 6th place medals
         0 — 7th place medals
         0 — 8th place medals

TEAM JEFF NAMED TOP 12 CLUB IN THE NATION!!!

Just two weeks after being named ISWA Club of the Year, the Team Jeff wrestling club recieved a certificate in the mail with a letter stating the following:

The following USA Wrestling Sanctioned Clubs have met the standards to be honored as "Gold Medal Clubs" for the 2006-2007 season.  This year only 12 clubs were named Gold Medal clubs.  To be considered for this honor clubs were evaluated on the following:  marking the improvement in membership numbers, participation in local events, and state programs, particiapation in the Coaches Education Programs, and the United States Wrestling Officials Assoction.  We also take into account your clubs finish at a national level.

It is indeed an honor to be one of the twelve out of 3100 USA Wrestling Sanctioned Clubs to be selected for membership as a Gold Medal Club:

Natonal Guard Grappling and Hand to hand combat instructors name Austin Copeland wrestler of the night.

Week 6 - Louisville MMA - were our guest clinicians, Austin Copeland named wrestler of the night, and Scott Smith a Gracie BJJ Black Belt was the main clinician.
Week 4-
Guest clinician was Olympic Gold Medalist Shelby Wilson!!!!  He spend and hour on FHL's and let the guys touch his 1960 Olympic Gold Medal!
Week 6-
Mike Brown (blue-3x State Qualifier from Jeff), James Wortley (black-2x SQ from Fort Wayne, put on a Judo clinic.
Week 6-
Casey Stouffer - ran a clinic for 30+ Greco guys - he is the head coach at Mt. St. Joe's in Cincinnati.

Week 7: 3x State Champion and Asst. U of I Coach, Stephen Bradley, along with State Champion Matt Irwin award Becky Cissel RTC Wrestler of the night. 
Week 8: Keith Sieracki - 2x Olympic Team Qualifier, National Champion, Greco World Team member and ISWA National Team Head Coach shown here awarding Becky Cissel RTC Wrestler of the night.  Beck went on to win her 6th women's state championship after this clinic!
Week 9: Team Jeff had the Sieracki clinic in conjunction with New Albany wrestling club - thanks coach Burres for making this possible!  34 kids from the two communities came together for one special night!
